Senior Vice President, Marketing, EMEALocation: Remote, with significant regional travel Reports to: Chief Marketing Officer (based in London) Team: Regional marketing organization of approximately 50 Scope: Europe, the Middle East, and AfricaThe CompanyA global consumer brand with approximately $25 billion in annual revenue and a presence across more than one hundred markets worldwide. EMEA is one of the company's largest and most strategically important regions, spanning mature Western European markets, high-growth economies in the Gulf and Turkey, and an expanding footprint across Africa. The company is at an inflection point. Consumer behavior in the region has shifted faster than the marketing model built to serve it, and the next phase of growth depends on a regional organization that can move with more speed, more local credibility, and sharper commercial discipline than the one that got the business to its current scale. The OpportunityThis is a leadership role inside an established, at-scale business. The SVP, Marketing, EMEA owns the region's full marketing agenda: brand stewardship, demand generation, retail and channel marketing, consumer insight, and the local execution of global campaigns. The remit spans brand and awareness at the top through acquisition, conversion, and retention at the bottom. The successful candidate will be the most senior marketing voice in the region and the CMO's partner in translating a global brand platform into markets that do not behave alike. Northern Europe, Southern Europe, the Gulf, and Sub-Saharan Africa require different media mixes, different retail realities, and different cultural registers. Holding the brand consistent while allowing it to breathe locally is the central intellectual challenge of the job.Key ResponsibilitiesRegional strategy and commercial accountabilitySet the EMEA marketing strategy in partnership with the CMO and regional commercial leadership, aligned to global brand architecture and regional growth targetsOwn the regional marketing budget with full accountability for allocation, efficiency, and returnServe on the EMEA leadership team, contributing to commercial planning beyond marketingBrand and creativeAct as the regional guardian of the brand, ensuring global positioning is expressed with cultural credibility in each marketLead regional campaign development and the adaptation of global creative, working across internal teams and the agency rosterBuild the brand's cultural relevance in priority markets through partnerships, talent, sport, music, and earned mediaGrowth and performanceDrive the acquisition and retention agenda across e-commerce and owned channels, with clear accountability for traffic, conversion, and customer lifetime valueOwn the regional media strategy and the agency relationships that support itBuild the measurement and attribution discipline needed to defend investment and reallocate it quicklyRetail, channel, and commercial marketingPartner with sales and key account teams to support retail and distribution partners with marketing that converts at the point of saleLead trade marketing, shopper marketing, and in-store brand expression across the regionTeam and organizationLead, develop, and where necessary reshape a marketing organization of approximately 50 people across multiple regional locationsEstablish the operating rhythm between the regional team and the global center, resolving the tension between global consistency and local autonomyBuild a bench of marketing talent capable of taking on larger regional and global rolesCandidate ProfileExperience18+ years in consumer marketing, including time at the leadership table of a global brand of scale and complexityDemonstrated success leading marketing across multiple EMEA markets, not a single-country record extrapolated to the regionTrack record spanning brand building and performance marketing, with the credibility to be taken seriously by both a creative agency and a finance partnerExperience leading a marketing organization of comparable size and geographic spreadComfort operating in a matrixed global structure, with a history of influencing peers and a global center without formal authorityExperience across both developed Western European markets and higher-growth markets in the Gulf, Turkey, or Africa is a distinct advantageCapabilitiesStrategic clarity. The ability to choose. This role will be handed more opportunity than budget, and the value of the leader lies substantially in what they decline to do.Commercial fluency. Speaks the language of margin, sell-through, and return, and can hold a marketing position in a room full of commercial leaders.Creative judgment. Not a creative director, but a leader with taste, who knows the difference between work that is safe and work that will move the brand.Data literacy. Fluent enough in measurement to challenge an agency's model and to know when a number is telling the truth.Cultural intelligence. Genuinely curious about how the brand is received differently in Milan, Riyadh, Lagos, and Stockholm.Personal characteristicsOperates at scale without losing edge. Comfortable with the complexity of a large organization while retaining a bias toward decision and pace.Low ego, high standards. Willing to be the most senior person in the room and still get into the detail of a campaign.Resilient in a matrix. Able to absorb the friction between global and regional priorities without transmitting it to the team.Effective leading a distributed team. Builds trust and visibility without proximity, and does not require a shared office to hold a team together.Multilingual capability welcome, though English is the working language.Location and TravelThis is a remote role. The successful candidate may be based within the region, with a preference for a location that maintains substantial working overlap with London and the global marketing leadership team.Travel is a genuine requirement rather than an occasional expectation. The role calls for regular presence in London, periodic travel to global headquarters, and consistent time in priority markets with local teams, agencies, and retail partners. Regional marketing cannot be run entirely from a screen, and candidates who are not prepared to travel at this level should not pursue the role.CompensationA competitive executive package including base salary, annual performance bonus, long-term incentive, and benefits, calibrated to experience and to the market for a role of this scope.
